Hi,
I have it half way done. Run the test program and you can see. Program works in
W2k, XP and Wine. mingw32-gcc -mwindows -Os GetGlyphOutline.c -o ggo.exe
I stopped messing with it two weeks ago, I needed to work on something else.
When testing you can select the alphanumeric character with the keyboard. The
original program had "a" but I changed it to "L" something simple to draw at
first. You will see the problem.
The test program from Dr. Dobb's Journal http://www.ddj.com/184409154?pgno=12
Thanks,
James

It did break the partition table I had the 2 times I have tried on real
hardware.
The two times, I had Ubuntu installed in logical partitions.
Each times, it see my 10Gb as 4Gb, and give a warning it does not
understand correctly
my partition table.
First time, it did seems to see some unused space (there was probably
none in reality) and
I let it installed there, stopping just before installing the boot
loader (I wanted to use
grub to start it). But when I tried to reboot, computer was unable to
boot, not even go to
the BIOS. Reinitializing CMOS or reflashing BIOS did not help. Finally
discover that
unplugging the HD fixed the BIOS. Probably a BIOS bug, expecting a
correct MBR and partition
table.
Next time (about 1 week ago), I had made a primary partition for it, and
still have Linux
on logical one. But it seems to have break the partition table once
again (not sure how
I convinced myself of that however, I think because I was not able to
search for
/boot/grub/menu.lst from grub on hd0).
I was given on a link in IRC about an unfinished patch on
hyperheterodyne, or superheterodyne...
that was about the partition manager. Was 1 or 2 years old however.
I read it a bit, patch and code for usetup?, but not good enough yet to
really understand.
So I consider the installer very dangerous right now.

There was a patch on bugzilla replacing some of the greyscale images
from wine's card.dll with colored ones.
http://www.reactos.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=2476
Ged noticed that they looked exactly like windows images. The wine
images seem to be windows images converted to greyscale.
Maybe we should replace these images. I have found an opensource project
with nice images: MacSolitaire
http://sourceforge.net/projects/macsolitairex
Noone (with exception to a few reactos devs) really bothered to actually heavily use those tests to check the developed code for errors.
If they were used from the beginning, there would be lots more supported apps by now.
Speaking on topic, updating is important, but 2 years ago means that that test isn't really updated in wine.
Wbr,
Aleksey.

Hi,
I dont talk very often here, but this is, in my eyes, quite urgent. Some
days ago Magnus said he was able to fix some bugs thanks to the old
winetests we have in SVN. When I looked at the tests I saw that some had
their last update in r16000, TWO Years ago. I know its some work to port
the tests, but dont you agree that newer tests could help to find even
more bugs in ROS and that a update should be performed? If I could, I
would do so, but I'm not skilled enough yet...

While i'm away, it would be cool to listen to what other devs think about it. Like James, Thomas, etc.
I don't have a pc here, but I feel cautious about any significant changes into .s generation.
But, if it is possible to generate .s once, it would be good.
Aleksey.

Agreed,
having it generated one time reduces wrong version
and renders the whole process more reliable.

At moment we are genreate the win32k.S 2-3 times
I do not whant it be genreate more that one time.
that reason I whant a lib instead for allot genreated
win32k.S, I will need a lib later for win32k testkit
for dx.

The original grayscale comes from
http://nifty.stanford.edu/2004/EstellCardGame/
if I remember right.
Also used by projects like

Nice idea. The cards there looks much better then the completly black and
completely red cards.

Moving lists to appropriate places sounds good to me too. As for the lib, why would it be better than the current solution?

The lib thing is exactly what I had in mind.
I just also suggest moving the lists (win32ksvc.db and sysfuncs.lst)
from the folder where the nci tool is to the folder where the function
implementations are (win32k and ntoskrnl)

I do not like the idea of fully switching to such a lib.
But for regression testing - let Timo do it then.
Aleksey.

If some does not like the idea create a lib call
win32ksyscall.a let me hear it now, I will implement
it today night or tomoring other wise, it will be allot
easy for our testapps apps and gdi32/user32 using
a lib instead a genreated win32k.S for each apps.
