Thanks for the pointer. I think other testers (devs too?) may find it useful, so it would be convenient to put it in ROS codebase. I'll file a patch with usage and technical description shortly.

I think it depends what do you want to do with it. If you want it in ROS codebase (not necessarily in trunk, but still on svn) you should post a patch to bugzilla, with some info on how it works.
