Well this was based on the information that the ext2 branch is just 
waiting for the cc rewrite to be merged.

I was just informed that we can not commit the branch to trunk, before 
the changed are audited. I untruly thought that we could make a 
exception for a branch beeing merged. Since lot's of changes inside of 
the memory manager are involved, the hole plan can be forgotten.
