i cant go to an European country/town/city each month...
i agree on being preferable real meetings than IRC ones. But, its not
feasable to do it.
It is what was one of the proposals for the meeting - to have an annual
physical meeting

The meeting was a failure. Unfortunately, my
pessimism, regarding the
formula used in our case was 100% correct. I originally did proposed a
meeting of volonteers, willing to take part and discuss about things they
inted to do, in order to coordinate the effort and perhaps discuss the best
way to solve the problems encountered.
Our meetings turned into a massive social event, too boring to participate
actively. Want a proof? out of 3x people logged, we had... less than a dozen
of votes back?
This is simply a waste of time. Perhaps some of participants can just write
off 3-4 hours one thursday at the end of each month, but for me this is not
acceptable.
Its a pity to see so much work from Colin, Amine and Vicmarcal, spent on
organizing and wriitng up for the meetings, simply wasted. Just take a shot
and count the ratio of hours spent in the meeting, vs decisions actually
made.
Working over 10-11 hours a day, few hours every evening is usually all i
have, shared also with my social life.
I prefer having social meetings in real life, not on IRC, hence, this is
the last meeting i am participating in. Please cross my name out.
