I am not ageinst icon, But I feel it should be a choice to have more that rescue bin and my computer icons, I do not like see the network icon on the desktop in windows. I am not against icons. I was talking about ergonomics and previous usage of a product.
Perhaps, in the second stage setup, we could put a checkbox:
[ ] Add as many icons as you can on the desktop.
