Before this goes too far and no one steps in, I would suggest this was a personal project being developed in a certain way to make it extensible to other modules.

Any patches to this area which don’t fit this niche spec would probably be rejected.

In my opinion, it would be better to pick an area that wasn’t being actively developed, especially in a very particular way such as this is.

Hello sudhir, since you're interested in the fastfat_new project, you might want to approach Aleksey. He's the maintainer of that part of ReactOS, but has recently turned his attention to other things. He should give you some background information, and maybe an outline of things that have to be done for fastfat_new to be fully functional.

The following links may also be of interest to you:

Since you currently don't have commit access to SVN, I suggest that you submit any changes to us via our Bugzilla. Please see http://www.reactos.org/wiki/Submitting_Patches for more information.

hello,

Thank you very much for all the help guys. I am interested in the Fast FAT project. Also arty and colibri gave me an idea to work on partmgr.sys.  I am more interested towards Fast FAT as I have prior experience on file systems and I can show something concrete to my professor. The other thing is for partmgr.sys I need to start from the scratch and there isnt much info about it.  Is it fine for others ??(since some one might  be working on it).The idea of adding list of all the medium sized task to the wiki is good as its going to help people like me.

Thanks & Regards,
sudhir.
