[ros-dev] Data types: compatibility and porting

Reading the forum, it seems that porting ROS to 64-bit (x86-64) is the 
most wanted target.

Should we begin using (and converting existing code) the new data types 
MS defined for Win64, to make easy that one and any other future porting 
effort?
