I do unterstand your intend. For my taste there's too much cloning. At
least on UI where it can be avoided. I also think that MS did it one way
and there are tens of other ways to do it better.
On API side, there is for now no way of doing our own.
BUT. Thinking similar to you, this is not the right time, yet. ReactOS
has still a long way to grow until it really makes sense to split up a
project. Think of this: Removing Explorer 20k dlls and other apps is
just one click away. But making the core-DLLs, subsystems and kernel run
well and compatible - that's still a lot of work.
