Let's be honest to ourselves: that's a typical,very polite, frustration
preventing way to say that they did not choose us for participation for
whatever reasons they had.
It's their right, it's their wish to actually make Google Summer of Code
happen, so I just want to thank them for helping other open source projects.
To be fair, there are many interesting, prominent projects which were
selected:
Wine, Mono, Google Kubernetes, LibreOffice, MariaDB, to name just a few.
BSDs got support too: FreeBSD, OpenBSD, but not NetBSD.
