Why can't you use the prebuilt binaries or packaged source code? The repository is and will always be a tool for the developers. Users should never have to use it and if they want to be wannabe developers they need to accept the consequences of their actions.
In addition to this. With the continuous integration in place we need to compile after each change, so it will be very easy to offer a cd iso/ binaries after _every_ change, so there's really no reason why a user would want to use the cvs (unless he's a compilation addict or something).
