I do always select highest compression.
My processor time saves manny others download time.
The thing with zip is that it doesn't support solid archives. You can
imagine as doing a tar and then zipping that. What all zip-packers do is
they zip every file and then tar tehm together.
So in this 'special' case where text (cointiuous text) is compressed,
RAR gives much better results.
Said that, also 7zip or tar.bz2 should be on the same level as RAR.
