If you are going to do more work on rbuild, I'd suggest doing it in a
branch to avoid clean rebuilds every few revisions.

There's already an available branch: rbuild. Moreover, you could perhaps find some
useful patches.

my rbuild changes don't affect rules. Full rebuilds are unnecessary,
only forced by the extremely pessimistic algorithm used for "automatic
dependencies". Try full dependencies for a change (or disable automatic
dependencies)
