Hey, I know some basic C++, and I thought the reactos project would be a great way to learn more about c++ and programing. What's the best way to get involved in the reactos project?

1. get a local replica of the source code repository at svn://svn.reactos.com/ (browse it here: http://svn.reactos.com/viewcvs/)
2. find a piece of code you can complete/improve
3. get build tools
4. complete/improve THAT piece of code
5. rebuild ROS
6. test it
7. send a patch to the ros-dev list
I've got a local copy of the reactos svn trunk, I've got xmingw. It's just that the only thing I've ever done with C/C++ is extremly simple stuff, less than 100 lines. I'd love to work on improving the installer, but I don't even know where the files for the installer are.

The stage I installer is here: trunk\reactos\subsys\system\usetup
I knew VB pretty well in highschool. I am at college now and i am computer engineering major so i took computer programing 1 and 2(C++) and i taught myself C#. I knew a decent amount of both lanuages but nothing special really. I pretty much did what EA said to do with ROS and I guess it turned out well. So dont get discouraged, just read a lot of code and try a lot of different things.
