Why I wanted a UI coordinator, is because HE should solve SUCH questions [in a more or less diplomatic way :) ].
How am I supposed to impartially solve an issue I am personally involved in? If people aren't willing to accept my condition of "discuss with me first", then I don't know what I should do.

I think there is a need for a a document in the wiki similiar to the project coordinator page, that states what the UI coordinator should do. Right now different people have different views on it.
That would at least be a way to fix the duties/responsibilities and authority someone in a particular position has. On the other hand it depends whether everyone wants to implement such a mechanism of bureaucracy. Certainly the more democratic approach is usually favored in OSS-Projects, but a team leader position is always good if a final decision is required.
