At the moment, there's one blocker bug registered, 1107: Opening a Command Prompt (console) window causes the desktop to hang.
A lot of networking apps crash, all due to the same bug. Arty is working on that one.
On each boot, I have to get rid of 5 device install screens. I'm not complaining, I understand PnP is a work in progress, but if nobody objects I'll change the code in the branch to never pop up the device install screens.
Last item is perhaps a bit controversial. I don't like the huge icons in the start menu. It also makes the start menu not fit in 640x480. Can we please go back to smaller icons?
Other than these items (only 1 of them serious as far as I'm concerned) I like the branch and I believe it will become a good release.

Excellent, I didnt know he was working on that.

Go for it.

I plan on changing the default to 800x600x16. Is this a better idea then making smaller icons? I think we really need the res changed because a lot of windows wont fix in the screen and it just looks so much nicer on the eyes.

I think it is also going to be a good release.

I have the tenative blocker list, I just haven't sent it out and adjusted the bugs. I was trying to get a good test finished before sending out the list. I should be able to later tonight.

Well, he's the tentative blocker list:
http://www.reactos.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=1026
By far the biggest source of complaints. I don't mind it just being disabled for 0.2.9, as GvG suggests.

That's it really. I tested most apps on my testing cd (Abiword, Gvim, OO..) and they either worked the same, or had progressed. I didn't spend too much time testing network apps, due to the FastMutex bug arty is looking at, but ncftp worked for me.
On the other hand, a great deal of long standing issues have been resolved. Page files, wallpaper persistence, environment variable dialog.
The only real issue I've seemingly encountered is a registry/shutdown issue. Sometimes I cannot get the page file setting to stick, and get crashes on shutdown. Since this is new code and does progress shutdown, I'm hesitant to block 0.2.9 due to those issues.
Please discuss. Unless someone disagrees with these blockers, I will update their severities tomorrow.

If he can get it fixed soon, great, but I don't think I'll hold up the release for it.

It's a blocker.

+1
