I tested the live cd in a:
-Intel 1.6 GHZ -Mainboard Intel 82801BA and
CD drives
-TEAC CD-540E -Yamaha CRW8424E
The liveCD was in the Yamaha drive, all worked normally till i log off, the computer resets as normally and sudenly when the computer loads again it does not detect the yamaha CD, i tried reseting several times to try to put back online but not even the light of the yamaha turned on. I finaly turned down the power and swiched on again, the both CD drives where detected.
Never something similar have happened to me, it is too much casual it happens on testing the liveCD just in THAT CD, but still i can not say if it is a bug of reactos or not.
Another less important isue: I get the following error when accessing to the HDD
E_ACCESSDENIED_WIN32 ACCESS DENIED ERROR
Context:Shellfolder::Shellfolder(IShellfolder*,LPCITEMIDLST) Location: Utility/Shellclasses CPP:280
Still i can access the HDD (this happened two with the RC-1)
Best Regards and Happy New Year,
Lucio Diaz.

We researched and found the likely source of this promblem - sending flush cache command to ATAPI devices (the same thing that killed, dead, LG CD-ROMS using Mandrake 9.x a little over a year ago).
The good news: Filip has got it fixed in his tree, and I suspect it'll be committed ASAP.
The bad news: This is, as I think all involved can see, bad. Really bad. I think it's so bad it warrants a withdrawal of the current livecd until a new one can be made with corrected atapi.sys.

Does this affect 0.2.5 only or was the same problem present in 0.2.4? Is the boot cd unaffected?

I'm not 100% sure. 0.2.4 was uploaded to sf 2004-09-12. There was a moved soft reset in atapi.c v. 1.54, 2004-09-14. Whether or not this matters in this case I can't tell.
Possibly I was a bit over-protective of users equipment and overreacted. I could have written "Could this ... warrant ...?". Maybe we should wait for filip and see what he has to say about it.

Ok. Just to be sure I've removed reactos-0.2.5-rc2-livecd.zip for the moment.

Filip doesn't have proper net access at the moment, but he send me his patch (attached). Let's just vote on whether to include it in 0.2.5.
With the risk of being overly obvious, I think 0.2.5 should not be allowed without it since it can potentially endanger users hardware.

Well if it's an improvement why not include it?? Just test it out a bit more especially that guy who had the broken cd drive

I'm not against including the patch, in fact, my vote is "yes, include it". It's just that we have established a procedure for changes after code freeze: discuss the change on the mailing list and vote on it. Let's try to stick to what we agreed on before.

After having looked at and analyzed the patch, I vote yes.

Seemingly my position was possible to misunderstand. Maybe I wasn't clear enough.
My vote is: "yes, include it".

I came along with Jason to do the build on 2nd evening CET. I'd include it and in case do again a new build if this patch happenes to still need an improvement. So make it look like RC3 and final

My vote is "yes"!
For 0.3.0 we need to modify it a little because other ATAPI devices like MO(magneto-optical) drives or tape drives surely need the flush cache command.
