Any reason the inclusion of the GDB stub can't be keyed on the existing
"DBG" var? I feel (pretty strongly) we should minimize the number of
compile-time configs.

I also feel that way too, but I was trying to increase choice for the 
user. I'll key the wrappers in with DBG.
