Oh, and very amusing shutdown messages btw, I and several others on IRC thought something had happened to the ROS tree...I'd recommend they be removed and a standard message ("It is now safe to turn off your computer") be put inside instead :P

I wonder if Microsoft has a trademark on that.
I dont think it really matters until the rest of the shutdown system is in place but maybe we should all agree on one message that is sorta the same like "It is now safe to shut off your computer".
Thanks Steven

I think so. Perhaps it could be added "It's now safe to shut down your system\n\n" before the developer's "bye-bye" message? That should make all parties happy.
For pre-1.0 versions I vote the message(s) stay - now that the quote is corrected.

Done.

In my defense, the "Goodbye" version did give a lot of hits on Google...
Gé van Geldorp who's still having some fun

It seems we need a new config flag:
ENABLE_FUN=1

*lol*
What about pluggable and user-editable messages?
You could also move all funny messages into resource strings and using a new language "SUBLANG_ENGLISH_FUN" to separate them from the standard messages. Setup just has to ask "Do you want to have funny messages?". By setting the default language to the FUN sublanguage the funny message sets are activated.
Thanks to NLS this is all possible. ;-)
You poor, POOR soul :P

Re: GVG "Can't we have fun"
I like the fun shutdown messages. They should stay around for a while. After if its not fun why else would we be here.
Thanks Steven

It seems I recompiled the merged shell32 and then tested with the old shell32... Change rolled back until I find out what's wrong with it.
