I don't know. Updating I had no .cvsignore in those directories. TortoiseCVS 1.8.3 did not complain about adding it, but when I committed I did not get version 1.1.

They should be deleted. If not, then I've made a mistake. Did you prune empty directories?

Hi Guys lots of talk about ekubush and their cloning of your project but seems to me that u allso clone some (very much) stuff from from both Windows 2000 and Windows NT 4.0 Scsiport.sys and alot of shell32 code and NTOSKRNL.exe are taking direct out of Windows Code seems to be to a good base idea to maybe get some idea about the internal stuff in both Directx and Ddraw.dll and the hardcoded stuff works but Microsoft will close the Project if anyone from their department finds out. the opdates in the last past has just been want microsoft Does find some mistakes where i look a the xx and the same mistakes microsoft did is about something like
void Somefunction(LPWSTR SomeString) { return NT(LPWSTR SomeString); where it should LPSTR.. }
And guys i wanna make a better Reactos Not the same shit microsoft do... hope you will to now maybe i should go for myself now.... and make a new Windows Project..
And if you do clone Windows Code please do it a littel better than that

we do NOT use leaked microsoft source codes at all, not even looking at them or posessing them... If you work a while with certain APIs you get to understand how things under the hood have to work, so very often it's not even necessary to do reverse-engineering.
the opdates in the last past has just been want microsoft Does find some mistakes where i look a the xx and the same mistakes microsoft did is about something like

I think i understood what you were saying, however that can't happen because we don't have their sources and so we can't "accidently" copy such mistakes. What doesn't mean we don't do mistakes, we've got lot's of wrong/buggy code, that's why ROS is that unstable ;)
And guys i wanna make a better Reactos Not the same shit microsoft do... hope you will to now maybe i should go for myself now.... and make a new Windows Project..
their software is far better than you might think. If it was shit, it'd crash all the time, something that i rarely experienced, but it wasn't even M$'s fault at all...
And if you do clone Windows Code please do it a littel better than that
again, we don't clone the windows code. We don't even really "clone" windows, we just create a compatible operating system. The internals often are totally different but they still archive the same goals.

Why do you think a lot of code in scsiport.sys, shell32.dll and ntoskrnl.exe were copied from Windows? Although I didn't personally write all the code in the components you mention, I'm confident that it wasn't copied from Windows but written from scratch. BTW, most of the shell32 code was copied from Wine, so if you accuse us of copyright infringement you're also accusing Wine of copyright infringement.
seems to be to a good base idea to maybe get some idea about the internal stuff in both Directx and Ddraw.dll and the hardcoded stuff works but Microsoft will close the Project if anyone from their department finds out. the opdates in the last past has just been want microsoft
Sorry, no clue what you mean here.
Does find some mistakes where i look a the xx and the same mistakes microsoft did is about something like
void Somefunction(LPWSTR SomeString) { return NT(LPWSTR SomeString); where it should LPSTR.. }
Please provide specific references, examples of exactly which functions you claim were copied from Windows.

If SCO had such employees I doubt they would've been able to settle some trials at all ;)
Anyway, showing proof might be a bad idea - showing proof would mean that we'd get to see windows code...

Sry for your reactions seems just to me theire where much identical code in the last past im not gona list any microsoft code but know its correct that the new code in the last past seems very ident to microsoft and my hope where just that you dident use the leaked code
Cuz think Reactos OS is a great Product and i may not be clear enough but just hopede that some day Reactos will be better than windows cuz microsoft seems more and more to be busy about their money offfice pack than give use users a better windows and to give all developers littel a big ones a better platform where they can develop apps and games...

Have you ever told Microsoft how they could make their software better? Also remember that what makes Windows better for you may make Windows worse for other customers. You can't have it all everytime.

The last thing we want is this guy posting MS Source Code listings on the ML. No offense, but have you gone crazy?

BTW, i seriously doubt someone who can't even form proper sentences has access to the windows source code. Oh and, i've been following this project for a LOONG time...i've seen scsiprt.sys built up from scratch, piece by piece, so i know at least THAT part of his statement is hogwash.
In response to Thomas Larson,
I think that ReactOS's goal is to recreate what Microsoft tried to monopolize. If anyone had access to pure Microsoft Windows Code they wouldn't be working with the ReactOS people, they would trying to work up there own project. And Besides most of the people here are experienced programmers, that know what they are doing. Of course there will be substantial differences between Microsoft's Operating Systems and ReactOS Operating Systems. The only thing I am concerned with is people trying to do posts to the Mailing Lists like that because they are monitiored by MS. I Bet you they are. I even get emails from my Cox.com people thinking I have the code being transferred to my computer from time to time. But Microsoft, especially little old Billy boy has his hands down cox's pants, if you know what I mean. So that is just a marketing ploy. And When ReactOS decides to do different version of it's OS they will rewrite and test and rewrite until it is to the way that they want it. So please don't post highly disputable posts to a mailing list especially if you or anyone else claims to have seen such MS code, btw, the code is only a small portion and is not 100% complete!!!!

ReactOS does not steal any of Microsoft's code. In fact, having the leaked Windows source code is as bad as looking at it... and the developers cannot have them or they cannot work on ReactOS. The same discussion occurred with FreeDOS about the leaked MS-DOS sources.
There may be areas where ReactOS will strugle in the same places that Windows NT did or is currently. However, this will not be because of code stealing. If we wanted a better, yet compatibile, operating system than Windows NT, why would we steal the leaked code? That wouldn't make sense.
I'm not a native English person, yet I can speak and type fluent English. It's not that hard.
Yeah, but you accuse ROS of 'stealing' source code from microsoft, which i know first hand is FALSE. I've been with the project since 0.00.12 or 0.00.13 or something like that (read: a LONG time). I was the one who wrote most of the original windowing code (jason filby and others got us a basic hello world window, but i gave it the modern win32 look, implemented several needed user32 functions, etc.). I KNOW for a fact that none of our code is stolen. For you to make such false accusations...

I don't think that's true. First of all, shell32 comes from the WINE team, who have been working on it for years, gradually improving it over the time, although there's still so much missing. Same is with our ntoskrnl. Things have been improved dozens of times, introduced new bugs, fixed old bugs, ... I don't know about scsiport but since driver interfaces and hardware are settled, it's propably hard to create one that is completely different.
the opdates in the last past has just been want microsoft Does find some mistakes where i look a the xx and the same mistakes microsoft did is about something like

I don't know what you're referring to, but if it comes to Nt stubs, there's various of documentations on the web and books that describe the parameter names, some of their internals, .... if not, some things can easily be guessed if you're used tto the native apis (and propably their naming convention(s)), sometimes things are just quite obvious. As for me, I often write little test application to discover how functions work when passing certain parameters to them.
And if you do clone Windows Code please do it a littel better than that
We don't clone windows code (at least i don't hope we do) - for some things there's not so much freedom of how they can be implemented in order to archive compatibility, other things (e.g. user32/gdi32/win32k) only need to provide compatible interfaces and behavior. So I think we're rather creating a compatible operating system than a clone.
Sorry, due to a reason post I had to pick this one up again.

I run CVS (Tortoise) with these parameters (I never took care of it, until you asked):
"D:\App\TortoiseCVS\cvs.exe" "-q" "update" "-d" "-P" "."
It prunes (-P) empty directories, unless it is a bugged release (I'll check it).
