Hi, I have been away from my computer for most of the past week and will be away for another week but wanted to weigh in on some outstanding issues.
1. I like the draft constituion Casper has ripped from Debian.
2. I nominate Casper to the Project Cordinator Position (I would like the job but I have personal issues going on right now that may keep me busy for the next year or so)
3. I think the PC job should be for a 1 year term with no more than 2 consecutive terms. I don't like the idea of re-electing someone over and over again even if they are doing a good job. How do we know if someone could do a even better job?
Don't bother replying directly to me unless you just want to share comments with others. I might not reply for a while. I would like to have votes for these issues as soon as possible.
Thanks Steven

Casper has put his hat in for the Development Coordinator Position.
I guess we should resolve the issue as to whether or not someone can hold more than one coordinator position while we're here.
I don't think it would be wise to allow that.
We should allow someone to run for more than one position, however.
So, I suggest we hold the elections one-at-a-time.
That way if Casper wants to be on the PC ballot, he could be. If he wins, he gets it, but can't run for DC. If not, he can still run for DC.
Suggestions?

[CSH] The draft constitution says the PC can't hold another coordinator position, but that a person can hold several area coordinator positions. It's up for debate of course, but I think this is a good way to do it. Area coordinator positions are created and removed whenever needed and some may require only little work while others may require much work.

Casper
Sounds reasonable to me.

[CSH] Well, thank you, but no thanks. I believe our PC should be someone good at PR. Someone, who likes being interviewed, and is present at as many conferences as possible and generally can make the project visible to the world. I'm not the right person for that job. I would much rather help getting the most out of the resources we have.

[CSH] I'm sure people will know from your participation in the project if you would be good at the job.

I certainly don't mind being interviewed, but...
At present I couldn't afford to go to more than one conference per year.
I don't see a problem with any of the rest of it.
If everybody else feels this is critically important, then I'm not the right person for PC at this time, though perhaps in a few years I'll have the flexibility to travel all over the world to promote ReactOS.
PC should help the project go a nice way, and his main due is to lead the project to bright future (of course it's not development manager who tells people what to do, but at least encourage devs with good ideas, plans, roadmaps, and other things is quite good). IMHO it isn't a must for a PC to go at every expo - it's just impossible. Though it'd be cool of course. I regret really that Steven don't have time right now, since he's best suited to this position (at least by a number of expos he's taken part in :-))
WBR, Aleksey Bragin.
