We need to vote on the UI Coordinator Vote. This will take 2 weeks according to our voting rules and only committers may participate. If you're not listed as a committer but participate in the project in an important way (testing/web work) then talk to an existing committer to get a recommendation.
I don't know who all has names in the race but my vote would be for Fireball. He has done quite a lot of work helping on translation and international issues in ReactOS and I think with the Russian Translation of the website and been helping others to translate ReactOS in to thier native language.
Thanks Steven

I abstain, as I am unable to make an informed decision at this time.

I need more information, Who is Mikko? 8^o James
Earlier on the mailing list (ros-web, ros-devel, and ros-general all got carbon copies), there was a mail with the subject "Interface team", to which both me and Mikko answered to introduce ourselves. In the event you missed this mail, I'll copywaste the most important part of it:
---- There's interest in forming an interface team, and I think it's worth exploring. This team would be responsible for all visual styling that goes on in the project. This includes ReactOS UI design and the look & feel of the website.
So far both mf (as known on IRC, and has come up with most of our current icons in ReactOS) and Mikko Tikkanen (has done a great mock-up for the site: http://devnet.dnsalias.net/guidesign/web_mockup.jpg) have shown interest in heading this team. If anyone else wants to throw their hat into the ring - feel free to do so. ----
Read the replies and/or ask other ros team members (Informed are Jason, Fireball, and GreatLord) if you need more info on the candidates (that's us :D).
Best Regards, mf (Mindflyer).

Sorry Mf, I lost 6+ years of Ros email. So I must have lost it.
Mf? okay who are you?
Anyway,
I know there are allot of GDI functions not support yet with Ros, so is this "team leader" going to setup a list of things we need to do to get GDI up to date? OpenGL and so on? Basically we are talking about the gui right? Win32k.sys and all.

I am mf, also known as Mindflyer, not to be confused with Martin Fuchs. I have gotten interested in ReactOS, and am currently replacing various icons. For instance, when you checkout latest SVN, the "My Computer" icon is one of my creations. I also hang out on IRC and on the forums. I've dealt with my share of open source projects in the past, so I think I have some authorization to say that I know what I'm doing :).

Alas, it is less technical than you think. The interface team will basically be controlling how things will look on the outside, which button goes where, what keystroke generates what reaction, etc. It's all a bit more on the "Human interfacing" side of development, something most programmers haven't eaten much cheese of (excuse the dutch expression). Basically, we'd be deciding how things look, act, and react(OS! - sigh, too lame pun). The technical side will also be addressed, but I think if you're looking for a list of missing GDI functions and such, you're better off asking someone in the dev team instead :).

Just a question: are you registered a committer? Only people registered as committers may vote, that's why I ask.
Cheers Jason

Hi
I'm going to vote for Mikko. Mikko came to me with this idea and sold me on it, when I was initially uninterested -- that gave him the edge in my opinion. He clearly showed passion for the position and appears to have a good sense of style.
Of course, if mf is voted in (as the votes appear to show), I will support him. He too has a good taste for style and appears to be good at listening to the ideas of various people. I'm sure he too has passion for the position or he wouldn't have agreed to be nominated.
Regards Jason
