Hello, we just had a monthly meeting in the beginning of January, so I don't see much of a reason to do another one at our usual date (and there are no urgent questions required for decision).
Next meeting is going to happen in the end of February as scheduled.
WBR, Aleksey.
"and there are no urgent questions required for decision"
well... there are several regressions between 0.3.13 and 0.3.14-RC ....

Is there a list somewhere of 0.3.14-RC feedback? The forum topic only asks for testing against applications, not testing phase 1 (bootCD/Usetup) and phase 2 (Syssetup) stuff, obvious flaws (diskette icon is a CD?) and correctnes of ChangeLog ( floppy bootsector fixing was Cmake-only I think?).
In addition to the changelog, a list of visible end-user features would be nice: * no more ugly blue boxes around desktop icons * LAN/WLAN improvements * Theme support * Some other stuff I forgot
Known issues: * you may encounter stops at phase 2 at mshtml.dll * phase 2 for now requires more memory than phase 1 and phase 3
The "user visible" change list is published at time of release.

but would be cool if they submit patches or something like that (or just, *help*) for FreeRDP being running in ROS !! ;)

[this should be the correct thread for this message this time... sorry Colin/Pierre for the mix up before!]
In addition, is the Apache license even GPL compatible? If not ReactOS won't be able to use it.
(to be honest, I just hate GPL software which uses GPL when unnecessary, but in cases like duplicating Windows technologies, it may prove to be an advantage, but I would have thought Sleepycat would be better than the horrific sham of a "free license" that is the GPL - of course that is an opinion of mine)

The licensing of ReactOS is not that straightforward. We have the core OS with its kernel, some of which is GPL v2 and some of which is BSD, we have a lot of Wine code which is LGPL, and we have a scattering of bundled programs and utilities under differing licenses. However, this is 90% irrelevant with respect to applications because what we target is the Windows and NT APIs, which also are implemented by Microsoft. Applications what we might bundle that target those APIs are not derivatives of our own work, hence it really does not matter what license they fall under, so long as it is an open source one that does not make our lives harder.

Hi,
I don't get the point in importing a 3rd party application which is properly maintained into our code base. It's already big enough. Adding a link to a binary in RAPPS sounds enough to me.

Yep, if they will provide win32 binaries. Else we have to host binaries ourselves.
Next thing is to set up a proper cooperation with these guys so their server will work well with our future multiuser environment. ________________________________________________ Jan Blomqvist Kinander (Jaix Bly)

well, ReactOS has its own implementation of the MS Remote Desktop Client, afaik. But i dont know it its complete or not. So, i still think it would be a good thing to import a working one, and release devs to work in other areas which need more attention
thats one of the purposes of free software... code sharing :)
I'm waaaaay more interested in the server side portion of this.
There are already several free and/or open source rdp clients, some of which even work under ReactOS. On Feb 1, 2012 6:55 AM, "Александр" art1st-tm@yandex.ru wrote:
