I would like to see a 0.2.7 release soon. 0.3.0 is getting closer every day, but it's not there yet IMHO. On the other hand, we have had lots of big patches from Mr. Ionescu (and others), major changes, go in and appear to be stable since we have released 0.2.6. I would like to see us have another release in this lull, instead of having a release right after committing a pile of patches *right before* the release like we did with 0.2.6.
I know it's been less than a month since 0.2.6, but my the time we branch and do a couple RC's, it will have been over a month.
I just have this feeling that we miss some regressions from release to release, since alot of us just use HEAD on a regular basis?

I agree with WD. At this early stage in development, releases attract good attention. You can never have too much good attention, thus I think minor releases should be a little more regular if possible, perhaps once a month. It's no different than Microsoft releasing patches for their operating systems once a month, only we have to release the full package. (until some sort of update feature is implemented)
I understand that there is no obvious change to the end user, but the change logs will speak for themselves.

Just curious, how long do you expect it to be b4 we release 0.3.0?

Hi I think we should wait until 0.3.0 are ready. and I do not see any real reason to make 0.2.7 release.

I agree with WaxDragon in that 0.2.7 would be good. It's good to have more frequent milestones that the public can see, and since people have been mailing in about it (refer back to the posts that Jason Filby forwarded here to the dev list) people *are* watching it.
More releases make sense because it keeps people interested. As more things work, people will go, "Look at how cool this is!" and when things grow nearer to a point of completion for a 1.0 release, more people will be using it, because it started out at something "cool!" and then they'd be using it because they know about it because they were told by someone who was excited by it.
That's theoretical, mind, but it's very likely. Also, more frequent releases can mean more coverage by media, which is also good -- serves to get the name out there. The more people that there are interested in it, the more that may help to develop it, the more that will test and use it, the more that will help provide information on it, and so forth.
I think it'd be beneficial.

Just to inform reactos users with nic RealTek8139 in real hardware that actually networking is broken ( Bug603) . Looks like I am the only one with this problem ?
Regards Gerard
Gge, I am running 14819 on real hardware with a rtl8139. Both 'ipconfig' and 'route print' hang (just like under qemu), but I can ping google and ftp to ftp.gnu.org.
I'm running DBG+KDB here, what driver are you using for you 8139?
WD

Here is the driver version : 5.396.530.2001

Let's put it like this:
currently we're making release ca. every 3 months. I would be also comfortable with making a release every 2 month, but not every 1 month. At least not now.
