Reading the forum, it seems that porting ROS to 64-bit (x86-64) is the most wanted target.
Should we begin using (and converting existing code) the new data types MS defined for Win64, to make easy that one and any other future porting effort?

Yes, of course. I've MM in my local tree completely pointer-truncation safe.

The Wine guys have already started a effort to make it 64 clean as well.
