I've been planning to take over on the wine sync's, but have been waiting until I've finished setting up the audit process before looking into it. This is now in place as of a few days ago.
I need to speak to Gé about a few things.

I volunteer to help with the wine syncs, but it would be nice if GvG could help the new syncers at the beginning.

Thx, I think I now know a lot of things I would need for a wine sync. But maybe someone should rename that document, I think I had never found it, if you didn't tell me...

There's a document in SVN (media/doc/README.WINE) that describes the process of syncing (vendor drop, ...)

Could we sync up the new wordpad app of theirs too? Thanks, James
I still wonder why wordpad and notepad are different apps. :( afaict wordpad already does notepad's job.

So guys, what's happening with the WINE-sync now?
I heard about Ged Murphy wanting to do the sync and I tried to contact him in private, but he didn't respond.
So is there anybody here, who can tell me, who will do the sync? And if there is nobody who want's to do it, can somebody set up a SVN-account for me, so that I can do it? I read some information about this topic and I think I am able to do the sync.

When did you try getting in touch with me?
Anyway, I'll do the sync. I've spoken to Gé now.
Ged.
I tried it yesterday via IRC (I'm known as fRy2oo5 there), but if you will do the sync it doesn't matter anymore.
If you'll ever need any help, just let me know.

Have you talked about widl sync? Both Wine and ReactOS have a lot of unsynced changes and merging them together may cause problems. We need somehow start sending our changes to wine-patches. If Eric have no time for this, I can start doing it myself (I'm a bit familiar with widl code).

Hi!
I just started a three-week vacation and I'm upgrading my computer right now. My plan is to start porting WIDL this week.
PS: I think the WIDL source can be unlocked because it is based on WINE and the additional code was written by me, using IDL test files and MIDL from MSVC6.
Regards, Eric

It is already unlocked. All code shared with wine is clean by default.
Are you completely sure of that?
WINE released a new version called WINE 0.9.10!!! The programs, libs, and API have been compiled for the Win32 platform for this release... Perhaps now it can be synched....

Wine release often. Every few weeks.

They always are.
There is no rush to sync, there are a few more important issues at the moment.
The inability to write puretext files quickly, efficiently, and smartly... Also, Notepad is format independant, while Wordpad takes a chunk of RAM to read formatting...

Actually one feature that Wordpad is missing, which is a significant one for me, is that you can't drag a file to it from Explorer to open it. If it could do that, i might use it instead of Notepad for general text editing. Instead, Wordpad tries to embed the file into the currently open file.
