But, this was reported to me as working: abiword & firefox install,  
vmwinst (which exposes vectored handler test) works.
I experienced triple fault on a clean build too, so it's not a random  
problem.

How so? People demand explanations about testing techniques Stefan uses.

If we had a decent building system (rbuild), which would do a real  
dependency tracking, I think it could help people avoid such mistakes.

This works pretty well for me and everyone else:

make clean
makex bootcd

Boot the .iso, install, try to boot, install some programs.
