When ReactOS is built and runs windows executables stabily I think we should have a program for windows that will let you customize the platform like windows ce and compile it with all the features you want. I think that it would be a great idea because of different types of systems such as PBX/VOIP servers, application servers, and domain name servers. This would allow security to be integrated into ReactOS by limiting programs allowing open ports, and Denial of service attacks. Maybe even support for multiple architectures like SH, ARM, X86, AMD64, PPC??? With FAT, FAT32, NTFS, XFS, EXT3, EXT2, and many others. Maybe even a rom based os. Please tell me what you all think.

Yes this is something we want but we lack developer resources at the moment. I have been making quite a bit of effort to get new developers to do ports to other platforms and compilers to make the ReactOS code base cleaner.
Thanks Steven

Hello, I just subscribed to this mailing list & I apologize if this has been asked many times before, but I'd like to know what areas of ReactOS need to be worked on.
The "What can I do page?" has generic information & the forum has too many "Can I run Doom-3 on ReactOS"-type of questions.
I'd like to help out on my spare time, but I don't want to waste time on something that's already being worked on. So what areas of ReactOS really need coding/reverse-eng. help (both user & kernel level)? What's the current hot/on-going devel?
Regards Matt

Salut Mathieu,
The way I like to answer this question is tell me what you're good at and like to work with. So if you love making fonts, then we would love to have someone make fonts... if you love and are good at drivers, we'd love for someone to write some drivers...if you just wanna hang around and help out and fix bugs you find or implement little features that we might not need until 2006, that's also great. So it really depends on what you're willing and capable and enjoying in doing. Come on our channel on irc, server irc.freenode.net, channel #ros-dev, and we can discuss.
Best regards, Alex Ionescu

(Newbie too) I DO know that Art Yerkes is working on TCP/IP and Networking, so you might want to talk to him and see (Apologies if he doesn't want help).

At this stage, picking your favourite device and an OEM driver for it and making it work with ReactOS would be very helpful.

And doesn't crashup for many reasons (I think you meant that too)

You mean, easily compile ROS for a different architecture, or...? You might want to explain a little more, I didn't understand that.

Like, have ROS be compiled to server JUST that function?

If a PBX didn't have SaMBa on it when not needing it would help, if that's what you mean...

"SH" ? I'm not familiar. I know that ROS is on x86 now, but I have an A64 and would LOVE to have ROS natively support that.

That would be nice. RieserFS too!

ReactROM? Not bad, but it would probably have to be a bigger then usual ~ ROM and have to be a stripped down ROS... !!! I've got an idea from that! ROSBIOS! For Internet PC makers who want to have a familiar (Read: Windows-like) BIOS! Instead of paying MS for the look and feel and to make a BIOS, they just use ROS (And hopefully release the code as GPL).
