GSoC 2018

Hi there,

I am interested in a couple of projects under System enhancement, that I found on your
projects list:
1) NT6 Recycle Bin Project
2) Search Shell extension
3) WebKit based MSHTML implementation

Kindly help me choose one, if I could get some more information regarding the projects, it
would be really helpful and I can go ahead with the proposal.

Also, I have performed a complete build of ReactOS Live CD, and Boot CD and gave it a test
run. I found it lacking a decent browser, tried to run iexplore.exe but it still couldn’t
load any web pages. I might be able to create something to help improve on this. Looking
forward to contribute to this reactOS.

Hello Abhishek,
Keep in mind that MSHTML implementation project is a very difficult one and most likely
won't fit into GSoC timeframe. I would recommend you to choose from the other two if
you are unsure about your skills. You would need to make an interface from MSHTML one to

The Search project is about implementing the search band similar to Windows XP, search
engine and support for Windows Search API.

Sadly I can't comment on Recycle Bin project.

Hi all,

As I suggested last year as well, I would strongly suggest trying to use
this opportunity to attack
one of the core issues for reactos, such as stabilising the memory manager;
bringing up
SMP support; or boldly porting to x64.

Even less, we could make up a roadmap for these problems and find
adequate mentors.

Therefore, we explicitly focus on smaller tasks this year. There are
enough important ones and students are more likely to succeed *and* stay
with the project.
