Ifs is required for it to get installed??why?

Will a driver for xp work in ros? what should be the os version i should
target? They do provide something like nt files, but nothing to compile to
nt compatible form(prima facia). I'm working on vfs implementation to
ros.Has any work been done in that direction yet? i didnt find any but for
ifs, though conceptually different.
