Have you checked to see if the mentioned file is actually in your tree ?
Also are you building on c: along with running an operating system on there?
I would have thought that would not be enough disk space

The system's a Compaq Deskpro 4000, with C: being a 1.25 GB hard-drive and
with 64 MB.
What do people suggest I do? (Besides updating to 0.2.6?)

Nobody implied that he did.
If you re-read the original message, you'll find he said he had 1.25Gb hard
drive.
With ROS and build tools taking up over 500Mb, I was just pointing out a
potential disk space problem. When you run out of disk space, the build can
end in odd ways.

The first nPOP Ver 1.0.2 http://www.nakka.com/ ( freeware )
works as far as I can test it, the other one
i-Safer Winsock Firewall http://winsockfirewall.sourceforge.net/ (oss)
puts itself on the task bar as a minimised window, but does not display
the programme on the desktop.
They have been test with a binary snapshot from December, which has no
networking in it.
Now that there are no longer any binaries releases available, I feel
excluded and I am no longer able to do any meaningful testing.
Will there ever be any more binary releases?
I have no cd burner, so I cannot use the iso images.

I was wondering MingW can compile itself under reactOS, then take the
new compiled version, and compile it self again and generate a stable
MingW tool chain can
it then build the ReactOS system?
Sort like doing a "emerge -system" in Gentoo's Portage?

I need to get hold of the ReactOS banner graphics to make some
alterations for ibrowsers default webpage.
The one on reactos.com has the words 'user site', which needs to be
removed and/or replaced.
I've tried getting hold of Jason, but I'm not getting a reply.
Does anyone else have any ideas where I can get it from, or if someone
would be willing to do the mods?

A: The cause of the slowness is that is that gethostbyaddr(), used by
Windump to resolve the host names, on Windows actually uses more than
just DNS and hosts files to translate IP addresses to names: it also
tries using NetBIOS-over-TCP to do the translation. The translation of
an IP address to a NetBIOS name requires to send a NetBIOS Name Service
Node Status Request (see section 4.2.17 of RFC 1002) to the IP address,
and wait for a reply: the reply will have the machine's NetBIOS name.
However, if the machine in question isn't running any NetBIOS name
service code (most non-Windows boxes don't), no reply will come back. An
ICMP Port Unreachable might get sent out, but that might not cause an
error to get delivered to the socket on which the request was sent.
Therefore, the machine trying to get the name might have to wait for the
request to time out before concluding that it can't get the name for
that IP address using NetBIOS. That could take a significant amount of
time.

I still hope Reactos will fix all those annoying bugs of Windows.

reactos project. :-)
Because it throws a light on your opinion about dealing with problems

Currently I hope reactos will be a nice and small replacement for all
fat and intransparent MS stuff. (ie remove everything except basic OS)

he's also had it reviewed by lawyers. I agree what's written here, and
would like to get some feedback from the community before we publish
it as our official policy.
