This seems to be a good idea, tis way it would be easy to change some settings and even modes, for example we could create one option, where you select the release mode, e.g. 0 for the ordinary svn-compilations, 1 for a weekly tech preview and 2 for a release. This can change some settings like dgb, kdbg and platform optimisations, and some places in ReactOS where the release name is output, and even some settings of usetup.
Sounds like a good idea, but I think we should use the existing ReactOS.xml (if you have one...), so we don't need to create a new file for this.

That actually wasn't supposed to have a '?' there.
I mean, why not include variable data, such as Version Numbers, and descriptions, in an XML file that is read upon compile?

I'm sorry, I don't really understand your question.
Could you try to explain it a bit more?

Have these custom settings saveed in XML File in SVN Trunk Root?

I think, the whole thing would just need a whole bunch of scripts, then it wouldn't be much work, as nearly everything can be automated, e.g. the compiling, the buildnumber, just not some release specific things, like a release name or something like that.

I would imagine the Build Number is added by the Compiler.

Well, I was just talking about these 4 digits, the individual build number, I never noticed the other numbers.
