I'd love to
work on this, but am still unsure where to begin. I need some
sort of sound driver (preferably the VMware one!) that will work with
ReactOS, with which I can test.
I have almost working sound support with 3rd party drivers. Most of the
changes are already commited to CVS except the biggest one and that is
improved DMA support (16-bit, auto initialization, ..., fixes). In my
local tree the sound sort of works, but there are still some problems
with DMA mapping that I need to resolve before commiting the stuff.
Currently it sounds like crackle combined with the correct sound
changing in regular intervals.
