Hi
I think its a mistake to tell us what our duty is - are you paying us? Can you not download the development tools whenever you want? Are they not linked to on our website?
What would the response be on the Linux kernel mailing list if you told them to start including GCC together with kernel releases?

Excuse-me, I don't want to be outrageous and I know reactos is highly beta but it is your "duty" to give the development tools use to
compile
reactos (here mingw) and to program in it with a default release,
isn't it?
Which linux or unix distribution come without a c compiler? Even Apple do it !

Not only that but the POSIX enviroment such as MSYS and Cygwin are not even needed to do ReactOS development. Sure I like them and if we ever get parrelle makes working it would be be nice to do a make -j but still MSYS or any other POSIX enviroment will never been "needed" for ReactOS development.
Thanks Steven

Effectively, I'm not paying you and I will not. I probably used the wrong word for "duty". But the question is behind having a NT compatible OS, do you intend to have the same policy as Microsoft: the user is just a consumer, he must not think. That's why most of the freesoftware OS are shipped with a compiler.
We get a little bit to far on this question. I'm sorry.
The basic question was how do you intend to integrate GNU or other freesoftware tools in reactos? If so you will need a sort of POSIX namespace.
You have done and you do a great job. I don't want to blame you. I will not be able to do 1%. So bravo for your work.
