I have now made some images to show what my ideas were, that I wrote about in my last email in reply to " ideas (by Paulo Correa Silva) ". They are only ideas, if anyone wants to take up the ideas, the photos free and are at http://photojournal.jpl.nasa.gov/gallery/universe and these are the images: PIA04203.jpg (No1_t.jpg) PIA04224.jpg (No2_t.jpg) PIA04936.jpg (No3_t.jpg)

I think all of these are good, but when I boot ROS on real hardware I get the blue init screen than the explorer. The only thing that works with explorer is the run menu and cmd. When one selects anything else, it just hangs. Could it be the ROS Vga driver? James
i didn't read the original message(s)
but i could make some boot screens to, just may say me how. some examples of my homepage work www.handytone.de/delgardo www.handytone.de/heaven www.handytone.de/charlie www.handytone.de/elogo and some more maybe someone likes it*g*

You must be referring to the boot screen ideas that I posted a week ago.
I too like the first one then the third one and I agree that the blue text is bad. They were only ideas.
I would suggest that ReactOS be placed in the upper half and a version number and anything else in the lower half.
But It is up to the powers that be to decide if there shall be a boot screen or not and it is not up to me. One has already suggested that there should not be a boot screen in ros.
I think that if No1 was done correctly, then it would be very eye catching to the first timers. Just imagine someone seeing that come up on screen as ros boots up, they would think, ' wow, this looks good ' and it would fill them with great excitement. But boot screens don' t make an OS

Of course they are only ideas, but I only expressed my opinion about the ideas!

Of course the boot screens don't make the OS... nor the look&feel; an operating system can have a boot screen and a task bar, window title bars, etc very ornamented, all much beautifull... but however be an authentic shit!

It's not kitsch. It's unreadable. It's (well known) that the contrast blue<->black is nearly the same. Not everyone can read this.
