Hi all, Someone, around a year ago predicted that ros would be usable as a server by early 2006. Would anyone care to stick their neck out and predicted 1. if the first persons prediction is likely to come true, or 2. give a new prediction of when ros will become a server.
Regards, jh
I assume by 'server' jh is asking,"When will ROS be able to act as a workgroup file server?". I definately cannot answer that question. But I can ask another one :) Is it feasible to port samba to win32 and re-use the samba code rather than trying to re-invent the wheel by developing our own smb 'server' service?

ReactOS is already an ICMP echo server, so yes ;-) Has been for ~3 years (on and off due to regressions).

I will re-word my query. When will it be possible to un-install a nt4 server os and replace it with ros?
Will this be possible in version 0.3.0 of ReactOS?

It depends on your requirements and whether or not someone will actually work on making ReactOS fulfil those requirements.
