Having zipped a folder with a copy of OffByOne browser and it's files with PowerArchiver and successfully unzipped it in ros with 7z.exe from the command line.
I tried to run it from the start - run menu and having located the programme, clicked on the open button and ros crashed with the following error messages:

The third time I tried running it from both ros explorer and from the command prompt and it refused to run but this same programme will run in win95. I then tried to run another copy of this programme from a different location and ros froze having lost the icons from the desktop and the taskbar. It looked like the bottom outline of a window was left over the taskbar.
The second time I successfully ran the programme the same way, but it crashes ros when closed it with it's close button (I have reported this error on another occasion).

Yes, it will need to be edited to ensure quality of information. But
a
more immediate need than editors is a Web Site Coordinator. Such a
person would not only oversee all content on the site, but also test
and
install new ezPublish releases, expand and refine functionality and
work
with various editors - and the Translation Coordinator (Aleksey).
Right now I'm spending a lot of time fulfilling this role myself -
and
am just not getting to all of what needs to be done. Hopefully
someone
with the skills, experience and time will step forward to take on
this
role in the not too distant future. In fact, I'm going to advertize
this
reactos.com to increase the chances of someone taking this on.
Cheers
Jason

I opened edxor from ros explorer then after having a look at some of the menus, I closed the programme with it's exit menu. The programme looked as though it had closed successfully, but suddenly crashed ros with the following error messages:

I have successfully installed miranda, an icq programme. I have run it up to the profile manager (first window), but I know nothing about this programme, so I do not know what to enter for a profile. I have also successfully uninstalled it, it only left a autoexe file and a ini file.
If anyone knows how to use this programme and wants to test it a little further, then it can be found on the Gnuwin website
http://gnuwin.epfl.ch/ , it is part of the gnuwin2 collection.

Hi,
I have tried to install 7zip in ros and everything seems to go ok until a error window pops up with the message " ERROR_LOADING SETUPAPI.DLL ". There is a ok button, which when clicked, closes the window for it to then reappear. If you then click on it again it just keeps coming back again. After about 6 attempts the window will close.
Another problem encountered at the start, was, if the installer message window was over the explorer window, then when the button was clicked on, the window became entwined in the explorer window and nothing happened. If the window was moved away from the explorer window first, then the button was clicked on, the next stage of the install proceeded. This does not happen if the installer is run from the command prompt window.
Install method: from cd by double clicking on the file " 7zip224,exe " in ros explorer.
Is this info of any help to anyone.

hi,
I started to write a file manager....
my target is to make it easy to use but very powerful and flexible.
apart from windows fs, it will support many filesystems (eg. nfs, http,
ftp, webdav... )
it will be able to preview thousands of file types. ;-)
it will be responsive as all slow tasks will be moved to separate
threads
of course none of these goals yet has been reached. At the time I am
designing the interfaces. So it will remain a one person job for some
weeks.
but there are already two jobs that may be delegated:
One point is to show if and how the "C:, D:" drive assignment may be
overcome.
So i will use URLs.
The most important part missing is an URL parser.
**** does anyone know how to use lex to generate a parser? ****
I write in delphi, so the interesting part of the lex file will be the
left side, finding the URL components.
there are BNFs available for URL, but
BNF is no standard, so syntax is odd (to me)
lex does not expect BNF but it's own format.
URI, BNF in appendix A
http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc2396.html
URL, BNF in chapter 5
http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc1738.html
btw, the filemanager will use plugins to view the file contents.
**** Who wants to write some plugin DLLs? ****
they may be written in C, interface will be strictly WinAPI standard.
There will be two types of DLLs
- those that render to a windows device context (or bitmap, I do not
know yet)
- and those that convert a file to a HTML representation.
(yes, the file manager already is capable to display html, without IE!)

How does this compare with Martin Fuch's ROS Explorer?
Is there any reason you decided to start a new file manager?

Hi,
2xeditor was run from the command prompt, it crashed on passing the mouse over one of the menus ^ , I re-started it and typed a test doc, saved the file* and tried to load it, without success, shut prog down with 'file' 'exit' menu successfully. I left command prompt running, when I left the computer for about 8 mins, returned and tried to type cd, but ros crashed on pressing the c key with the following error messages:
