Hello everyone.
My name is ashley cox, i'm a new user on this list. I'm visually impaired (completely blind) and like to experiment with computers.
I've been playing around with react OS in VMware for a while now with the help of my dad. I found that the default soundcard emulated by VMware is a SBPCI128, one of creatives soundblasters. I found a driver for all windows operating systems, and installed it on react OS. It says the installs complete. I restart the computer (although it didn't ask me to) but don't get any sound. When I go into the control panel, there is no sound device. Anyone got any idea how to fix this?
I think react OS is a great idea, just think when it's working we'll not have to go through windows activation again!
Thanks for your help and time.
Ashley
Hi,
I just wanted to let everyone know that Wineconf 2009 is going to be
held in Holland on Nov 6-8th. I am of course planning on attending and
Fireball said that he might as well. If any ReactOS developers are
interested in going and don't have the resources, speak up and perhaps
some of the users and advocates that follow ReactOS development would
be willing to contribute $5 or $10 to the Foundation on your behalf.
Information (what little there is currently) is here:
http://wiki.winehq.org/WineConf2009
The ReactOS foundation Donation page is here
http://www.reactos.org/en/foundation_donate.html
Also while there has been some heated exchanges with Wine and ReactOS
developers in the past, we do get quite a lot in terms of code from
them so if your interested in helping them out, you can donate to the
Wine Development Fund, which will help pay for Wine developers to
attend. The donation link is on the main page of Winehq.org
Thanks

We are gathering screenshots of ReactOS 0.3.9 in action. Best
screenshots will make their way into Screenshots section on the website,
which needs an update badly. Especially since it's the 2nd most viewed
page by our guests, and you know how important is the first impression.
We are waiting for your help! Post your screenshots in the following topic:

Some of you may have noticed I recently uploaded the charter for the ReactOS
Foundation, the original Russian and an English translation, up to the
site. These are NOT to be translated into any further languages. I'm
fairly certain I've locked the pages correctly, but even if I haven't, don't
translate them. We'll be maintaining a copy of each charter in the original
language as well as one English translation and that is it.

Hello,
I am now trying out ReactOS 0.3.9 in a VirtualBox VM. After installing Firefox
3, I realized that texts are being displayed very incorrectly in the browser
window: The chracters are in inappropriate positions, so that blanks appear
where there should not be a blank, or two characters are drawn one above the
other,...a typical kerning problem.
I tried this out with different websites, but the problems are always the
same.
Any hints?
Regards
Jacek Rużyczka
