- what is the situation with Release Engineers currently?
Z98 and me divided the Release Engineering work into caring about the Changelog (Z98) and branching/packaging the releases (me) long time ago. And looking at who created the initial changelogs in the past and hounded devs about getting their changes in, I don't think that this situation has changed.
Nevertheless, if there is another person willing to help with branching/packaging, I would gladly coach him a bit on this. Although I like the job, I don't want the release to depend exclusively on me, especially because I'll probably have less time for it in the future. Even though most of the process is described at http://www.reactos.org/wiki/ReactOS_Release_Engineer, there may still be some open questions.
Should we move this to someone else who is active now, like Colin or Danny if they have time?
I feel that I have enough official and inofficial jobs to care about in the project, so I certainly won't have time to take over the Website Coordinator position as well. If Danny is okay with it, I would gladly suggest him for the position.
I also want to underline that I stand behind his recent actions concerning the Wiki, since they were based on rules we both decided on when Wiki cleanup began over a year ago. Anyway, if people request it, we may still change the rules about what content goes into the Wiki and what content does not.
Best regards,
Colin
