Though i like the general idea of the icons, those aren't really taken care enough of. For instance, they aren't properly antialiased, and the trash can doesn't really look 3d, since the reactos sign isn't transformed.

They look nice, but could you perhaps do something about the base of the monitor in the first icon, it doesn't look very natural to me (it looks like a rectangle put on top of an ellipse instead of a box connected to a base plate). I like the last design of the folder though, although the anti-aliasing could be better.
Also, in general, does ReactOS support WinXP type icons? (with an alpha layer) That would make them look quite a bit nicer on the blue background.

Yea, it's not a computer. It's "My Monitor" And the folders. They could need some Alpha supported anti aliassing (like PNG) or the again revised ICO-format

At some point I think it would be cool to have Scalable Vector Graphics used for the icons. That way you have one file for any pixel size. That would definitely put us one step ahead of Microsoft's desktop, has we then could do animations of the icons growing bigger and smaller without any image degradation. Using .svg (or a revised .ico format to hold svg) might be a good future idea.

It's a well known secreet that the next Win generation will hold the SVG-like graphics format and MS wouln't be MS if they dont use it for icons as well. And for just resizing. The computers are fast enough to do 0-time resizes in high quality for bitmaps. I'd even say o(vector) > o(bicubic int.) [ > o(filtering)]
without any image degradation. Using .svg (or a revised .ico format to hold svg) might be a good future idea.
