Jason, Casper, Gé, should we move the SVN server off EU? Is there a free place left in the world? Did M already win (no sue needed)? http://www.mplayerhq.hu/homepage/index.html

I don't see what difference that would do. If we can't use ReactOS in the EU and US legally, then what good is it really? I believe I read somewhere that an EU software patent cannot be a software-only invention, but I can't seem to find a reference to that now.

Have some money (:-( ) and go to sealand.

What is the situation regarding 'ReactOS development' and software patents? I understand the patents might hamper heaps of software development of course. Where does it leave developers, and people like myself who will be the end user?

Hi
Basically: the same as any other software! We will try and avoid patents where possible (work-arounds), attempting to find prior art or perhaps even trying to prove them bogus. This is an industry wide problem - Microsoft is regularly bitten by this very problem particularly because they have so much cash. We will just have to try our best to handle the problem - just like everyone else.
Cheers Jason
