ReactOS on VirtualBox 2.0.6

Hello everybody,

I am now trying to test the last release of ReactOS on VirtualBox 2.0.6 with 
Windows XP as preset guest system. However, I encounter reproducible crashes 
at boot time. This is what the log says:

Any idea of the reason? All useful hints are appreciated.

Hello Jacek,

the log you are showing us is the VirtualBox log, not the ReactOS log.
To get the ReactOS log in VirtualBox please read following page at ReactOS wiki:

hi again jacek,

instead of running vmwaregateway as a service, try running
vmwaregateway.exe /t

leave it open and go to your telnet client

Distro --> openSuSE 11.1 x86_64
minicom version 2.3-27.41

could you take a screenshot of your vbox´s "serielle Schnittstellen" tab?
also, could you take a screenshot of your minicom´s serial port configuration?

Hi there,

Have you tried setting the operating system to something other than Windows XP? I am not very knowable of ROS internals but I am under the impression that some components of ROS are modeled after older versions of windows. I believe, for instance that the driver stack is modeled after NT4. I also recall that I had a better experience with ROS in VB when I set the guest OS to Win2k. But then ROS & VB have both changed since I last tried this some months ago. I would just generally recommend messing with the settings and removing unnecessary devices from the configuration.
However I could quite possibly have no idea what I an talking about, and those more intelligent than I will probably correct my advice and substitute better advice.

Ye're right: After changing to WinNT 4.0, almost everthing works fine. :-E
