Hallo,
I tried to boot up ReactOS 1.0.5 using VMware. I tell VMware to use the
ReactOS ISO as an image for the CDROM device. When I boot the virtual
machine, the freeloader on the ISO CD ROM is started, but it crashes
immediately. How is possible to run ReactOS on VMware? (Bochs is toooo
slow...)

I use VMware all the time. Could you describe where/how it crashes?

When you created your virtual machine, you probably set the harddisk to
be a SCSI harddisk. Change your harddisk to be an IDE disk and things
should go better.

No... these are my settings:
- 128 MB of memory (tried also with 32 MB). I have 1 GB of physical memory.
- HD 1 (IDE 0:0)
- CD-ROM 1 (IDE 1:0) using ISO image
- Guest machine: Windows NT (tried also with DOS, Windows 2000, Other)
- Strange features (like shared folders, snapshot and so on) all disabled

I'm running the latest VMware (4.0.5.6030).

When I boot I see for a second "Loading Freeloader", then I get this error:
"VMware Workstation internal monitor error - VM attempting to execute in
undefined memory. Please report this problem blah blah blah."

file a bug report, you'll get the attention of the FreeLoader maintainer.

Just curious, how did you know about ReactOS? do you happen to be a CompSci 
student from Turin, Italy, perchance?

Good hint. Actually, using theVMware image with a preloaded FreeLoader, it
boots correctly. Strange behaviour, I'll investigate a little and then I'll
contact the FreeLoader maintainer.

I found a link to ReactOS on the Wine site a month ago. So, I complitely
lost any interest in Wine and switched to ROS.

But it can be a feature to see drawing algorithms
And debug easier with it. :)
