Hi
Trying to run some old browsers from ros explorer I get a window with this error message:
ERROR_BAD_EXE_FORMAT - is not a valid Win32 application
Newer browsers just fail totally, with the exception of OffByOne.
I also get this same message when trying to run freecell and solitaire in ros explorer.
If I try running freecell or solitaire in the command prompt window I get a memory readout as though I had run free mem, something like this:
memory load: 0 percent physical memory actual physical memory free paging memory actual paging memory free virtual memory actual ffff0000 virtual memory free
There is a blinking cursor but no command prompt.
Is this a result of missing code or is it a bug that needs fixing.
System: Pentium 3 450Mgz with 64mb ram running ros 0.2.1
Cards in windows directory (win95)
Regards, jh
I've got this sort of memory information list when running various applications under ReactOS. I don't know why it happens, but you should be able to continue typing commands afterwards, despite there being no prompt.

It seems that these apps have a 16 bit header, which causes ReactOS to start ntvdm, the engine for DOS/Win16 Apps, which outputs this text. Win2000 Apps should run fine

It is because you are running either a Win16/Dos app or the app you are running invokes a Win16 app. Older InstallShield Wizards do this alot because they were 16 bit apps until recently.
Thanks Steven
