All,
Steven Edwards, Mark Tempel, Art Yerkes, and I will be attending WineConf 1/31-2/1. One or more of us will be presenting about ReactOS on Sunday morning. We're going to start work on a presentation soon, and in preparation, I'd like to have links or e-mail of any screenshots that you think look nice for the presentation. Also, any suggestions, hints, etc., would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Sure Vizzini, I'd love to make a bunch of screenshots- any programs of choice you would like to see? I am going to do a crusing of SourceForge, looking for freely obtainable win32 applications for testing now, and will provide screenshots of the more successful ones. What kinds of applications would the WineConf people feel 'awed' over?
I might expand my testing base to include windows shareware also- As far as I know, I dont have any commercial applications that currently can run on ReactOS, so this is the best I can do.
Would love some feedback on what you would find useful...

Hard to say; in general, we're going to only be able to run a subset of what Wine itself can run. In general, anything that looks nifty to you would probably look nifty to anyone else.
As to the format, I can handle anything, I think - it's just going into a powerpoint, after all, and I'm sure I can gimp it if I need to.
Thanks for the offer - I look forward to getting some shots.

Has anybody looked into running OpenWatcom (http://www.openwatcom.org/) on ReactOS? It includes a command-line compiler as well as an IDE.
It might be interesting to make sure OpenWatcom-compiled programs can run on ReactOS (they use a different C runtime, IIRC) and if that works try running the compiler proper under ReactOS and if that works, the IDE.

Hi, sorry for late reply.
I have tried to run OpenWatcom under ROS a while ago, but exe wouldn't even load, because of some differences in structure (I didn't dig into this area yet, and may mistake).
Though it worth a try now, with the current ROS build.
With the best regards, Aleksey Bragin.
