hi all, I have translated some files in my language, I have tried to send with the svn the translated file , but a mask appears of login that asks name user and password, svn://svn.reactos.com:3690 I have tried to give her in meal the name user and the password that I have created when registered on the web site reactos , but it doesn't work. Where can I have password? Am I mistaking anything? the version of svn that I am using it: TortoiseSVN 1.2.4, Build 4479 - 32 Bit
Best regards
Rob

Hello everybody,
Congratulations with the new release! Every time it's got a little better :-)
But i'm wondering: ReactOs is an alternative to XP. But, can it be an alternative to Vista? The architecture would be different, or not? I'm not a programmer, so I don't know exactly the problems and solutions.

The actual kernel and subsystem architecture is only upgraded, not different, and we already have some Vista APIs. As for Avalon/XAML/Indigo and all those new .NET-based technologies, remember that they have been back-ported to Windows XP. So once our compatiblity layer is high enough, and we can use Mono for .NET support, you shoudl be able to install those redistributables on ReactOS. Of course, eventually, we will want to create fully open-source versions of them, but until then, I don't think that we'll have issues running XAML applications.
It will however take a long while until we'll have the whole new graphics framework, but hopefully that will only really start to be used in 3-4 years from now.
Best regards, Alex Ionescu
