Questions about debugging ...

Hi list, I am having "problems" with debugging support. I have my build environment in Windows. I set up gcc/g++/nasm ok and i'm building last SVNs without any problem. I'd like to debug some code and i am getting in problems here. I test vmware with the following results ... VMWare (config => KDB=1, DBG=1) ----------------------------------------------------- * DEBUGPORT=COM1 BAUDRATE=115200 => CRASH, FREEZE!!! * DEBUGPORT=FILE => REBOOT Can we debug ReactOS with VMWare ? How can i update the ReactOS files in a QEMU's .img file ? Thanks in advance!

Yesterday reactos.com crashed. Unfortunately, I was unable to go onsite to fix the problem yesterday. This morning, I rebooted the box and everything seems to be up and running again. It seems some mail sent to @reactos.com yesterday may have been dropped. Ge van Geldorp.

ReactOS 0.2.6 Released!

The 0.2.6 version of ReactOS is available for download from reactos.com! As always a new release brings increases in speed, stability and compatibility. The next release, 0.3, will feature many improvements - but most notably somewhat usable networking. Many thanks to all the developers that made this release possible. Regards Jason

Mouse Problem on 0.2.6 RC2 and Qemu

Hi Everyone, I just downloaded the 0.2.6 RC2 packaged with Qemu and gave it a try. On the first boot up everything seems fine as I go through the initial setup however after the reboot at the end of the setup the mouse acts very strange. Simply moving the mouse causes the cursor to jump around and act as if buttons were pressed. This appears to be an issue with the packaged version of Qemu as running with the 0.2.6 RC2 disk image under the version of Qemu included with 0.2.5 works fine. Also, I tried the disk image with Qemu 0.6.1 as downloaded from http://www.freeoszoo.org/download.php and did not have the problem. I am running on Windows 2000.

Compiling under Linux

Hi, I tried compiling ReactOS under Linux, but I couldn't find the mingw C++ compiler. I have installed the mingw packages from http://mirzam.it.vu.nl/mingw/ as suggested by the Wine documentation for building MS Windows executables from the Wine test suite. However, the C++ compiler doesn't seem to be included, so the build dies with glu32: [CXX] libnurbs/interface/bezierEval.cc make[1]: i386-mingw32-g++: Command not found make[1]: *** [libnurbs/interface/bezierEval.o] Error 127 make: *** [glu32] Error 2 Is there a convenient way to install all of the mingw utilities needed to compile ReactOS under Linux, or is it necessary to start from the mingw source? Are others building ReactOS under Linux? (I also tried building with the MS Windows version of mingw under wine, but wine's wcmd is too limited). Thanks, - Walter

Have you checked to see if the mentioned file is actually in your tree ? Also are you building on c: along with running an operating system on there? Nobody implied that he did. If you re-read the original message, you'll find he said he had 1.25Gb hard drive. With ROS and build tools taking up over 500Mb, I was just pointing out a potential disk space problem. When you run out of disk space, the build can end in odd ways.
