We made it!
But we need your help to be in the top 5! Just 24 hours to do it!
ReactOS has been selected as one of the most important projects in two different
categories in the OpenAwards, an international opensource event based in Madrid. The 5
most voted will be widely announced, PRed, and finally one of them will be selected as a
winner. The exposure is a need for us, you know that, so please help us by casting a vote.

New subject: Longer-term ROS plan? IIS-compatibility kind of stuff
Hello all:
I am interested in replacing Windows 2003 server
and hopefully Windows 2008 server (hell, And Windows 7)
with ROS some day.
I have seen these:

But
1. is there thinking/planning on how to replace, or
use, things like Internet Information Server under ROS?
2. I see some net framework work;
but is there a stated goal as to if and what versions of .NET will be
supported?
3. Has this project drawn any sort of interest from Microsoft?
4. You Are being mindful to stay away from any of the
Microsoft Telemetry stuff, yes?

The team generally does not do a good job with responding to such queries,
and at least part of this is due to not having a very detailed long term
plan. The developers are all volunteers and work on areas of interest, so
trying to set roadmaps is also not straightforward. With respect to your
specific questions, my answers are likely to be as official as you will get.
1) There are no plans for an explicit IIS replacement, if you want to host
websites on ReactOS, you would be better served to just run apache or nginx
or etc.
2) Not really. .NET support will likely just come from Mono support or
using the actual Microsoft provided .NET runtimes. Providing an equivalent
is technically outside the scope of the project, and there has been no
major discussions about what to do about the likes of WinRT (the "new"
Windows Runtime) which relies on .NET technologies, or which at least
exposes functionality via .NET.
3) A few remarks here and there, nothing particularly serious.
4) No actual discussions. Assuming the project ever built this kind of
error tracking and reporting system, which can be useful, exactly what
information was being collected would be publicized and it would almost
certainly be opt-in.
