But, what we do you need to translate? (Docs, kernel ...), and if it's the ROS, how we translate it? Using po's or sth?

Hi all
Here are my thoughts about all the recent discussion on translations.
First, it's probably best to have a minimum of two people per
language
so that there's some kind of validation of what's being written.
Second,
I don't think we should go down this road without a translation
coordinator - there's just too much work that needs to be
coordinated.
If anyone is serious about taking on such a role, feel free to
contact me.
Cheers
Jason

Hi Ciobanu
There's no list and I don't think that there should be one. The
Windows
DDK is the place to look for APIs that need tests for the kernel mode
regression tests, and the SDK for the WINE tests. These tests should
first be written under Windows so that we can verify our compliance
with
the APIs.
Cheers

Hi Ciobanu
There is already some documentation on kernel/subsystem regression
tests. This part of ReactOS is not swappable with WINE, but covers
drivers, overall stability of the OS and of course the win32
subsystem.
You can find a doc here:
http://reactos.com/reactos_unified_library/reactos_developer_documentation/…
Missing from the doc is an explanation of how to load these tests
under
Windows to confirm results, this is still in the pipeline.
Of course, WINE tests are equally as important. The great thing about
these tests are that we can share work with the WINE project, and we
should be making more use of them because there are already many
tests
written. Steven, perhaps you could write a doc on this subject for
the
Library?
Thanks
Jason

Hi all
On the topic of testing and testing teams:
We really don't need an organized group of individuals looking for
bugs
just yet. The bugs are more than obvious to the developers - and
people
who try out ReactOS don't exactly hold back when they notice
something
not working properly.
What we really do need is an organized group of individuals writing
regression tests. This is not as hard as writing code for ReactOS
itself
- but still very important. When code is modified it very likely
introduces new bugs that may not be immediately obvious - we need
regression tests to keep this in check. There is a framework, but
there's a ton of work to be done.
Cheers
Jason

Sorry I have been short on time to follow up on some of my committed
projects with winmm, setupapi and the shell32 merges.
I have had 2 security audits to do, A exchange server and a VPN go down
and my regular work load before Wineconf so I will still be a little
scarce for a few days.
Thanks
Steven

I did some testing, and the Winzip self extracting files work under ReactOS, they extract everything...
and Winamp 0.96 run under ReactOS... the right click fuctionality doesn't work yet... the earlier versions of Winamp I tried also work even 0.2, but the menus don't work.
but this is great that we have some real Windows apps running under ReactOS :)
All,
Steven Edwards, Mark Tempel, Art Yerkes, and I will be attending
WineConf 1/31-2/1. One or more of us will be presenting about ReactOS
on Sunday morning. We're going to start work on a presentation soon,
and in preparation, I'd like to have links or e-mail of any screenshots
that you think look nice for the presentation. Also, any suggestions,
hints, etc., would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi peoples.
I'm newbie in this list.
A few days ago, i wrote "manual browser" on cmd.exe script. (UNIX man-like)
I wrote him on NT and optimize it for OS/2. But ROS 0.2rc1's cmd.exe don't
understand some NT's cmd.exe comands. (such as setlocal)
I will rewrite "man" in near future, but why ROS cmd don't have full
compatibility with NT cmd?
p.s Anybody want to write some man-pages? ;)
